About Sarah

I am a licensed acupuncturist dedicated to helping you move from imbalance to vitality. With over 15 years of clinical experience, and a membership in the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC), I offer a deeply personalised form of care. My core philosophy is to treat you as a whole person, addressing the root cause of your concerns, not just managing symptoms.

My Specialised Areas of Care

My practice is built on the framework of Five Element Acupuncture, which allows me to connect physical symptoms with their energetic (mind/emotions) and environmental origins. I think of the wisdom behind the philosophy of Five Element acupuncture as akin to Traditional East Asian Medicine psychology, and this informs my work. I have particular expertise and a compassionate focus in supporting clients through:

Fertility, Pregnancy & Postnatal Care: Providing natural support throughout the journey to conception, during pregnancy for wellness and preparation for labour, and postpartum recovery. I also offer a full programme for couples going through Assisted Fertility Treatment.

Stress, Anxiety & Emotional Wellbeing: Helping to calm the nervous system, release emotional blockages, and build resilience against life's pressures.

Chronic Pain & Fatigue: Addressing the root causes of persistent pain and low energy to restore comfort and vitality.

Digestive Harmony & Immune Support: Regulating digestive function and strengthening the body's natural defences for lasting health.

A Truly Integrated Approach

To create a treatment plan as unique as you are, I draw from a range of supportive techniques tailored to your needs, including moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, massage, nutritional guidance, and patent herbal formulas.

My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can reconnect with your body's innate capacity for healing and balance.

Leave a message, or email to arrange a discovery call. And check out my website to learn more about what 's involved when having acupuncture, and for the full fertility programme.

The Advertising Standards Authority requires the following clarification about acupuncture:

Acupuncture is a therapy used in complement to standard care. I do not diagnose medical diseases, and I strongly advise all clients to maintain a relationship with their primary healthcare provider. I am happy to collaborate with your medical team as part of your integrated care plan. Acupuncture does not use the terminology of Western diseases and, as such, does not cure such conditions. It should not be considered a substitute for conventional medical diagnosis, treatment, or ongoing care from a qualified physician or specialist.

As with conventional medicine, Individual results will vary.

Therapies Sarah offers

Acupuncture

Five Element Acupuncture is a gentle and effective treatment that activates your body's own innate ability to heal and find balance. By activating specific points, we stimulate the nervous system to release tension, improve circulation, and regulate your body's vital functions By observing subtle signs and assessing symptoms, practitioners diagnose how to optimise the function of your body’s physiological systems

Using precise, minimal needle placements, we work to:

  • Restore the smooth flow of your vital energy (Qi)

  • Nurture your core to strengthen your innate resilience

  • Release emotional blockages that often manifest as physical pain or illness

  • Support you in returning to a state of deep, natural balance and vitality

Ideal if you seek a transformative approach that honours your individuality and fosters lasting wellness from within.

Cupping

Cupping is a traditional therapy where the therapist uses special cups, often made of glass, silicone, or bamboo, to create a gentle suction on your skin. The suction draws the skin and superficial muscle layer upward into the cup, which helps to increase blood flow, release deep muscular tension, and promote healing in the underlying tissue. The sensation is like a deep, releasing pull rather than pressure. While it may leave temporary, harmless circular marks on the skin, it is known for effectively relieving pain, stiffness, and aiding recovery.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha involves the therapist using a smooth, flat tool (often made of jade or horn) to gently but firmly scrape or stroke lubricated skin in repeated, downward motions. This action creates light, temporary redness called "sha," which indicates a release of stagnation and improved circulation just below the skin's surface. It is not painful but produces a warming, tingling sensation. Gua Sha is primarily used to relieve muscle and joint pain, reduce tension headaches, and can also help clear minor congestion and boost the immune system.

Patent herbal medicine

Patent herbal medicine refers to pre-made, standardised formulas of Chinese herbs. These are professionally prepared by licensed companies into convenient forms like pills, powders, or tinctures, ensuring consistent quality and potency. Unlike custom teas, they are ready to use. Your practitioner will select specific formulas from a wide range to match your traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, using them to address patterns of imbalance for issues like low energy, digestive troubles, stress, or hormonal fluctuations, offering a practical and effective form of herbal support.

Therapeutic use of Mindfulness

The therapeutic use of mindfulness is the intentional, non-judgmental practice of paying attention to your present-moment experience—your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surroundings. In a therapeutic setting, it is not about emptying the mind, but about learning to observe your inner experiences without being overwhelmed by them. This cultivated awareness helps break cycles of automatic, reactive stress and anxiety, reduces rumination, improves emotional regulation, and fosters a greater sense of calm and clarity in daily life. It is a key skill for managing mental and emotional well-being.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese heat therapy where a practitioner burns a small, spongy herb called mugwort (Artemisia moxa) near or on specific points on your body. The moxa is either formed into a stick and held close to the skin to create a deep, penetrating warmth, or placed directly on an acupuncture needle. The gentle, radiant heat stimulates circulation, encourages healing, and strengthens the body’s vital energy (Qi). It is particularly valued for treating chronic pain, addressing feelings of cold or fatigue, and supporting conditions like arthritis or digestive weakness.
